Fiskars Hand Punches

(Fiskars hand punches are also commonly referred to as Fiskars circle punches and Fiskars hole punches)

Each Fiskars hand punch is renowned for its ability to punch through materials as thick as thin leather while the operator exerts only a minimum of squeeze force. Despite this and other great ease-of-use feature, however, these punches are just like any other tool and can occasionally need some tinkering before operating at peak efficiency. For instance, sometimes the punching components may stick or otherwise get jammed. One solution is to lightly tap the sticking punch on top of the table or on whatever work surface you are using in order to release the punching mechanism; the key word here is tap, NOT slam or use any amount of excessive force. Another possible solution is to put the punch in the freezer for a few minutes (but not any longer than 20 minutes) in order to shrink the metal parts enough to loosen the punch. In any case, each punch generally loosens up after a few uses.

A number of people can attest to the durability of and wide range of applications for the simple Fiskars hand punch. For instance, one customer noted that his particular hand punch has endured constant use by his children who use it constantly for art projects or just simply to amuse themselves making holes in a piece of paper; what better testament is there to the rock solid workmanship that goes into making every hand punch?

Fiskars hand punches also have uses outside the usual realm of crafts, scrapbooks and office work.  For instance, another individual found a creative use for a hand punch to aid her in sewing quilts. She was sewing using the quarter inch method, one that calls for a great deal of accuracy otherwise the pieces end up not fitting together quite right. She simply punched a hole in each quilting template she was using and used the holes as a point of reference with which to line the pieces up just right for the perfect fit every time! Other testimonials concerning the usefulness of Fiskars hand punches abound.

Fiskars hand punches come in seven different varieties that can create five different shapes of varying size. Three of the punches create single holes or circles with diameters ranging from 1/4” to 1/8” to 1/16”. The other shapes you can punch include 1/4” wide rectangles, stars, hearts and even dog bones.

In addition, every Fiskars hand punch includes the following features:

•    extended handle length for easier control and holding
•    the only true cushion-grip handles in existence that are molded to rest comfortably in your hand
•    each different kind of hand punch comes with different colored handles, allowing you to easily differentiate between punches and minimize mistakenly using the wrong one
•    as mentioned earlier (but worth mentioning again), each punch includes a built-in confetti catcher that captures each little scrap of metal you punch from the paper; no more hunting for tiny pieces of scrap on the floor after punching through a lot of items
